Why is your tag banek?
No tiene ningún sentido especial, lo idee cuando empezaba a pintar, probando letras, b, o, n, k, cambie la o por la a, y añadí la e para que sonara bien. Simplemente iba probando letras y combinaciones, y di con esta. Aunque no tenga ningún sentido, lo mantuve por la estética y porque lo que intento transmitir lo hago a través del estilo y la imagen que quiero representar en sí, el nombre es digamos el marco para presentar todo lo que quiero.
It hasn't got a really special meaning, I thought it up when I started painting, tryhing letters, b, o, n, k.. I changed the o for the a and I added the e so that it sounded better. I just tried letters and combinations, and I run into this one. Although it hasn't got any sense, I kept it for its aesthetic and because I transmit what I want through style and through the image which I want to represent. The name is like the frame I use to represent anything I want to.

What made you grab a spray and start painting on the streets?
Siempre me ha gustado mucho dibujar, en mi familia todos dibujan, algunos son ceramistas, arquitectos o pintores y eso lo he heredado de ellos. Vivo en un pequeño pueblo costero y allí no se ve mucho graffiti, se veían algunas cosas pero nada importante. Pero tengo familia en Hamburgo, Alemania, y allí empecé a ver muchos graffitis en las calles, y en los túneles. Recuerdo un viaje en metro con mi abuela cuando tenía unos 10 años, vi que había graffitis y que no había espacio para hacerlos ya que el metro pasaba a ras. Le pedí a mi abuela como podía ser eso y me dijo que se metían allí unos locos a pintar y que se escondían en otros túneles cuando pasaba el metro. Más tarde empecé a ver graffitis en Palma y empecé a hacer bocetos, y en 2003 me pille unos sprays de ferretería y pinte por primera vez. Después conocí a gente que pintaba y ellos me explicaron donde comprar sprays mejores, como pintar…Creo que empecé a pintar porque era algo muy diferente de solo dibujar, te hace sentir más cosas, el simple hecho de pintar en la calle y que todo el mundo lo vea, la comunicación que hay entre los diferentes escritores, la sensación que tienes cuando estas pintando y sabes que en cualquier momento tienes que escapar.Todo eso me atrajo mucho, además de claro está el amor que todos sentimos por las letras.
I've always liked drawing a lot. Everyone draws in my family. Some of them are ceramists, architects or painters, and I have inherited it from them. I live in a small coastal village, and you don't see a lot of graffiti there. One could see some things, but nothing really important; but I've got some familyl in Hambrg, Germany, and there's where I started seeing a lot of graffiti on the streets and in the tunnels. I remember a trip I made with my grandmother by underground when I was about 10 years old. I saw that there was graffiti, and that there wasn't any space to do it, because the underground passed so near by the walls. I asked my grandmother how could that be, and she told me that crazy people entered there to paint and that they got hidden in other tunnels while the underground was passing. Some time later, I started seing graffiti in Palma, and I started sketching. In year 2003 I bought some spray cans from an ironmonger's and I painted for the first time. Later on, I met people which painted, and they told me where to buy better spray, how to paint...I think I started painting beacuse it was something really different to just drawing. The simple fact of painting on the streets and everyone seeing it makes you feel more things. The comunication between different writters, the sensation you've got while you're painting and knowing that at any moment you've got to escape....All that atracted me a lot, appart from, of course, the love we all feel for the letters.
¿Cuál es tu estilo?
What is your style?
Bueno, se podría decir que mi estilo es 3d o “model pastel”, pero yo diría que intento unir más estilos, de hecho mis letras también se podrían definir como wild style a pesar del volumen. A parte de la forma en sí de las letras, intento que las letras tengan un aire industrial, mecánico o incluso biomecánica, darles una temática y atmosfera oscura y futurista, basada en los comics y películas que me gustan.
Well, we could say that my style is 3d or "model pastel", but I would say I try to join more styles. In fact, my letters could also be defined as wild style, in spite of the volume. Apart from the lleters' form, I try to make letters which have an industrial, mechanical or even biomechanical air. I try to give them a obscure and futurist atmosphere and thematic, based in comics and films which I like.

Me encantaría poder tener las dos, mi prioridad es calidad, y si puedo cantidad. Es decir, lo primero para mi es crear una buena pieza con la que me sienta satisfecho, intento hacer todas las que pueda, pero nunca son suficientes jeje.
I would love to have both, but my priority is quality, and if I'm able, quantity. So, the priority for me is to create a good piece, with which I feel satisfied. I try to make as much as I can, but they never are enough hehe.

Intento transmitir varias cosas, la base serian las letras, el estilo, que creo que dice mucho de cada persona, por ejemplo un estilo dinámico y puntiagudo, puede ser sinónimo de agresividad, nerviosismo…Pero el estilo para mi es la base para enseñar algo mas, y ahí es donde entra toda la estética que intento mostrar con mis letras, intento mostrar unos graffitis industriales y deshumanizados, una sociedad futurista. Con esa base inspirada en las obras que suelo ver (cine, pintura, comic...), intento mostrar temas como la contaminación, el mal rumbo que está tomando la humanidad, la destrucción del planeta. Me interesa mucho mostrar todos estos temas y juntarlos con las letras, aunque a veces simplemente hago piezas puramente de estilo, sin ninguna temática a parte del estilo en sí.
I try to transmit several things, the base would be letters, style, which I believe that says a lot of each person. For example, a dynamic and sharp-pointed style, can be synonymous of agressiveness, edginess … But the style is for me the base to teach something else, and that is where all the aesthetic which I try to show with my lleters comes. I try to show industrial and deshumanized graffiti, a futurist society. With this base, inspired by the work I'm used to see (cinema, painting, comic...), I try to show topics as pollution, as the wrong direction which society is taking, the planet's destruccion. I'm very interested in showing all this topics and in joining them with the letters, although sometimes I just make pieces with style, without any subject but the style itself.

De cada vez más, veo mucha gente que lo acepta y que valora incluso el bombing, de cada vez más gente va por la calle fijándose en lo que hay allí, murales, plantillas, tags. De todas formas está claro que cuando se destrozan fachadas o comercios a la gente no le gusta, de hecho si a nosotros mismos nos firmaran en el cristal de la puerta de casa no sé si nos haría gracia. A pesar de todo sigue habiendo mucha gente que no se entera y que desprecia el graffiti sin pararse a mirar o pensar que es o que le puede aportar.
I see more and more often each time people which accept and values it, even bombing. I see more and more people going through the streets and staring at what there is there, like walls, insoles, tags. By all means, it's obvious that people doesn't like fronts or trades being destroyed. In fact, we ourselves wouldn't be very pleased if our house's door glass where tagged hahah. In spite of all this, there's still a lot of people which doesn't get to know anything about it and which despises graffiti without stopping and looking at it or thinking what can it apport to them.

Tengo un grupo llamado Filth, con el que intentamos poner siempre ideas en común para desarrollar muros que sean una buena unión de nuestros estilos, además somos muy buenos amigos. Pero el grupo no tiene miembros suficientes como para ser todo lo competente que pretendemos, así que estamos desarrollando un nuevo proyecto en el que intentaremos contar con más artistas. También formo parte de CDM.
I've got a group called Filth, with which we always try to put our ideas in common, to develope walls which are a good union of our styles. We're also really good friends. But the group hasn't got enough members to be as competent as we would like, so we are developing a new project in which we'll try to count with more artist. I'm also part of CDM.
¿Como definirias la palabra graffiti?
How would you define the word "graffiti"?
para mi graffiti es algo muy grande, que apareció de la necesidad de dar constancia del individuo en un mundo que esta cada vez mas alienado, y en el cual la personalidad se extingue. Pero claro, como todo evoluciona crece, absorbe otra ideas, y ya se a convertido en un movimiento global, con muchos estilos y formas de proceder diferentes. Esta claro que seguimos ligados a algunas cosas "básicas" La palabra graffiti la definiría como el tema de pintar en la calle, escribir tu nombre etc., pero para mi es algo demasiado grande y cambiante como para ser definido de forma concreta, por eso para mi personalmente significa libertad, hacer lo que uno quiere, y por supuesto para mi es arte, un arte que no se puede controlar, aunque muchos también pintemos lienzos, pintar en la calle esta siempre allí.
Graffiti is something really big for me, which appeared with the individual's necessity to constance in a world which is more and more insane, and in which personality extinguishes. But of course, as everything grows, evolves, and absorves other ideas, and it has already become a global movement, with a lot of styles and different forms of proceeding. It's plain that we're still tied to some "basic" things. I would define the word graffiti as the topic of painting on the streets, writing your name, etc, but for me is something really really big and changing as to be definied of a concrete form. That's why, personally, for me it means liberty, doing what one wants, and for me, of course, is art, an art that can't be controled. Altough a lot of us also paint on linen, painting on the streets is always there.

Me gustan mucho iniciativas como esta, además me encanta que incluyáis entrevistas, ya que saber las opiniones y pensamientos de los escritores dice mucho de ellos y me parece importante tener información sobre los escritores para entender bien sus obras.
I like iniciatives like this one a lot, and I also like you inlcuding interviews, because knowing the opinions and thoughts of other writers says a lot of them, and I think it's important having infomation about writters to understand correctly their work.

Fueron el inicio y ahí siguen, he visto trenes muy buenos, me encanta como la gente se las apaña para pintarlos.

¿Nos podrías dar algún consejo para ser igual de bueno que tu en este arte?
Could you give us a piece of advice to be as good as you in this art?
Creo que lo más importante es la constancia y practicar y probar mucho. También me parece importante el papel, porque es donde se desarrolla ele estilo y las ideas, la pared para mi solo es el resultado de mucho trabajo en papel.
I think that the most important thing is constancy and practicing and trying a lot. I also think that the paper is importat, because that's where style and ideas unroll. The wall for me is just the result of a lot of work on paper.

La gran variedad de estilos que ahí y los grandes escritores que han dado caña, como los pornostars, xl, cmyk, aryz, gypsy kings, belin…También ahí que destacar nuestro estilo propio a la hora de hacer las cosas, aquí no nos estresamos quedamos tarde, empezamos a pintar unas horas después y todo con la calma y las risas, me parece que eso es muy de aquí jajaj.

The great variety of styles there are and the good writters which have made really good stuff, like pornostars, xl, cmyk, aryz, gypsy kings, belin... I've also got to point out our own style when we do anything. We don't get stressed here; we meet late, we start painting some hours later, and everything with calm and laughter. I think that's very typical here hahaha.

No lo he calculado nunca, después de estos años, el objetivo siempre ha sido pintar, si había pasta pillaba los colores que necesitaba, si no miraba que tenia de sobras y pillaba lo mínimo para poder pintar, en verdad ya desde que me puse en serio priorice el graffiti, intentado no gastar en otras cosas para poder comprar botes. En verdad gasto en pintura todo lo que puedo, ya que es lo que me gusta hacer. No podría decir una cantidad exacta, me he llegado a gastar más de cien euros al mes, y otras veces voy tirando de restos de pintura sobrante de exhibiciones.

I've never calculated it. All this years, the objective has always been to paint. If I had cash, I bought the colours I needed, if not, I had a look at my surplus and I got the minimum to paint. Really, since I've been more serious with graffiti, I've prioriced graffiti and I've tried to stop spending in other things to be able to buy cans. In fact, I spend on paint all I can, because it's what I really like doing. I couldn't say a exact amount, I've even spend more than 100 euros per month, and other times I use rests of paint from exhibitions.
